Daily Life in Tylertown

The purpose of pretty much everything we do in Tylertown is to render ourselves obsolete: make every sick animal well, reunite every pet and owner, or find new homes for the pets whose owners can no longer keep them.

Success, when achieved, will be bittersweet, for few places have captured the hearts of so many, so quickly, as has our beloved Tylertown camp.

As the weather turned colder, the importance of shelter increased.

The clinic yurt was jump-started by a group of volunteers from Milliman Consultants. Spurred on by their efforts, a group of Best Friends staff were able to enclose the lattice framework in an afternoon.

"How do the Mongolians do it?" indeed!

Thanksgiving in Tylertown

A group of about 75 sat down together on Thanksgiving to enjoy a great feast and a lot of fun.

Judy Pfister, a St. Francis board member, helped the Tylertown kitchen crew to prepare a feast. The delivery of a stove about 20 hours before dinner was to be served was a welcome event!

A good time was had by all.
