Service to the Community

I worked with data using excel, access, and the World Wide Web at Best Friends Animal Society's Hurricane Katrina Rescue Shelter in Tylertown, Mississippi from Oct. 8 through November 7th. (Some of my service hours are also logged on my EDIT6190 project management site.)

As Lost & Found Pets volunteer, I took calls from people looking for their missing pets and searched our intake databases and different sites on the World Wide Web to try to locate the animals. I did lots of non-technology things while there as well, but the service hours recorded her reflect my use of technology in my rescue work.

At top left, I have used Word to layout cage cards for the dog runs and am about to laminate them.

At left, I am snuggling Ducky after her bath. While she was with us she gained over one pound in weight and also developed more mature feathers on her wingtips.
