Hi, Mary.

I enjoyed looking at your quilting web site during the showcase dry run. I am writing to give you my feedback on your work.

I really like the overall look and feel of your site.

The quilt pictures are beautiful and add lots of visual interest.

The navigation is clear and very easy to use.

I do find the black text on the blue background difficult to read. The blue makes a nice background for the quilt pictures but I had a hard time reading the text.

I thought the use of numbers along the bottom of the glossary page was interesting, but I would have found the glossary more useful if there was a way to look up the terms or to go to the terms that begin with a particular letter.  I think this would really increase the value of that section.  But the definitions are very easy to understand and the photos are both visually interesting and helpful in terms of clarifying the words defined.

Finally, the design-your-own quilt section is AWESOME. What a great, fun idea.

Hi, Monica. I loved your refworks tutorial. It is very stylish, contains a lot of information in a small space without being crowded, and is easy to navigate.  You are doing great!

My only suggestion: I was hoping for print versions of the guidelines demonstrated in the videos. I was surprised to find them by hitting the quit button.  You may have them linked elsewhere but this was not obvious to me and I had been looking for it. So, my suggestion is to make the printable, text-based reference documentation links more obvious somewhere closer to the surface of the site.

I may have to go back to school so I will have a reason to use refworks. Great job on a very useful tool! Mary

Hello, Jung Eun. I am writing to give you my thoughts on your beautiful Art Therapy web site.

You have created a really stunning site. This is excellent work! The colors are great and the visuals are marvellous.  Your site design and site content are perfectly married.

I was a little confused at first by the two sections of the expression section.  People can probably figure this out but you may want to add a little guidance so they will know there are 2 parts to that section.

The color analysis is very interesting. I am looking forward to reading about the rest of the colors as your site progresses.

I was fascinated by the analysis section.  It might be helpful for you to have a native English speaker read and help with your text.  The first part of the analysis that reads "We can Star and Moon at night, but these express lonely and especially, Star mean this child want people to know own lonesome" is not standard English and was confusing to me. I think what you are saying might be better expressed as follows: "We can see the stars and the moon at night, but these symbols express loneliness.  The star is especially significant and shows that the child wants people to know he or she is lonesome." I would be glad to help you with other text passages if you would like, because this is SO interesting.

Your site is really a work of art.  I hope it is as much fun for you to create as it is for us to look at!

Hi, Jeremiah. What an interesting idea for your 6190 project.

I look forward to reading about the rest of your travels. I hope you were a good tourist while in Florida, my home state. :-)

For the geographically challenged, it would be great to have a rollover with the city named when you mouse over the thumbtacks. This could fulfill one of your accessibility requirements too!

I really liked what happened when I clicked on Buffalo.  The action was fun and the information is a fun visual presentation.

I am a little worried that it looks like you are giving us the finger in your photo. Might want to photoshop that just a bit!

Good luck in getting the rest of your cities linked and  your project completed. Sincerely, Mary

Dear Haidong,

I enjoyed discussing your project with you at the studio showcase practice session.  I never sent you my comments from then and am incorporating them into this message, which refers to your project as it currently exists.

1. Home - I like the overall look and feel of the site. The arch logo in the top left is pretty pixillated - you might want to re-load this image and make it a bit sharper.

2. Welcome - the welcome does not play and the link sends you to a dead page. You might want to add information about what program people need to have to play this, and also add a link so they can download the program.

3. Learning procedure: I like the way you are presenting this data. After pages 1 and 2 the links are dead. You probably know about this.

4. Intro WebCt. You might want to rename this "Intro to WebCT" to make it more correct English.  As we discussed at the showcase, I think the font colors for module 1 and module 2 are too faint and hard to read.

5. Your title page has a title, "Title Page," which could be changed to be more expressive - include what it is a title of.  The rest of your pages do not have titles at all.  This may seem like a small thing but many users look for and like to find page titles. Your project will be very useful to many people.  Good luck as you finish it up.
